  Accu Knowledge’s AIM 96 provides a much needed work centric information manager. It’s perfect for individuals who provide services for others, and for individuals who wish to keep an accurate diary of their work day. This is handy when the boss says, “What have you done for me lately?”. You can answer with professional reports summarized by project and task. For many, just being “Organized” is not enough. The Work Center of
AIM 96

 The Work Center is a single window to organize and manage your day. At a glance you see your Address Book (upper left hand just below the tool bar), Special Dates (anniversaries, birthdays, ... - upper right hand corner just below the tool bar), a three month Calendar for scheduling activities, Activities thru Today listing To Do’s and Phone Calls needing your attention (just below special dates), and finally the lower quarter of the window showing Appointments and Notes. Just as with other PIMs Appointments, Notes, and Phone Calls can have alarms. Be sure to try out the right click feature on this window. The pop-up menus can be very helpful.

 

AIM's General Construction

 AIM is a Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT application. It uses Windows much likes word processing and spreadsheet applications. You can open the main window and then several documents or spreadsheets at the same time within the main window. This is called a MDI Windows interface. In AIM, you can have the Work Center open, plus telephone calls to several people, plus appointments, and much more. AIM has a common toolbar with frequently used functions and tailored pop-up menus for every list by pressing the right mouse button(you ‘ll love’em). AIM is built from the ground up with the philosophy, “Only enter information once, and reuse it and reuse it.” We call this “Cloning.” For example: From an Address, you “clone” Appointments, To Do’s, Phone calls, etc. Cloning will save you time and make your information accurate and complete at each step of the business process. A couple of other AIM philosophies are: Databases will be “Open” and reporting tools will be readily available. What does this mean to you? You can use a reporting tool purchased from your favorite software retailer and use AIM’s information without exporting or jumping through hoops. AIM’s database is a snap to use and understand.
